Project management practitioners often lament that executive leadership does not recognize the true value of improvement projects. Yet, they often do not provide executive leadership with an accurate vision of a project's financial impact to answer the question: Why should we approve this project? This presentation provides the project management practitioner with key financial metrics to help executive leadership better align priorities, allocate project resources, and optimize business value across the entire project portfolio.

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
(1) explain strategic financial metrics and why they are important to executive leadership;
(2) discuss how the Financial Viability Index (FVI) can guide strategic project selection aligned with corporate financial strategy.
