#325 Lessons Learned for Project Management From Working in Motion Pictures

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Making a movie or a television show provides lessons to other project contexts. Motion picture workflows and processes have evolved for speed of execution and flexibility, using an agile-ish approach, with the advantage of a clear mission. This could be usefully applied in other contexts such as disaster recovery and event/crisis management. The presentation will share observations of movie making from a project management perspective with insights and examples for communications, change management, execution, and team management applicable to other project types.

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
(1) apply techniques from motion picture work to organize projects for speed and agility of execution;
(2) describe how to plan and organize to manage risk, change and communications effectively.
