Regenerative medicine is a game-changing area of medicine with the potential to fully heal damaged tissues and organs, offering solutions and hope for people who have conditions that today are beyond repair. This case study shares how Mayo Clinic's Center for Regenerative Medicine in partnership with the institution’s enterprise portfolio management office (EPMO) is ensuring PMO success at an enterprise level. Some of the pitfalls you should avoid as you build your organization’s PMO and PMO Maturity Model will be discussed. We will also share some PMO challenges experienced in other industries and how they can be addressed.

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
(1) recognize the challenges and major pitfalls PMOs should avoid as they manage their project management offices;
(2) identify techniques that can be used to overcome PMO challenges.
