Benefits realization management is the path to a systemic relation of strategy to project execution, assisting the development of the right organizational strategy for any portfolio. On the other hand, resource optimization is a cornerstone for proper portfolio capacity/capability management.  An effective mapping of desired outcomes, evaluated through scheduling simulations with the available shared resources, empowers PMOs and portfolio managers to optimize the use of portfolio resources while delivering the expected benefits.

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
(1) explain the importance of benefits realization management—from the project to portfolio level—to improve risk management, governance, and portfolio value;
