#414-EXH Backlogs and Burndowns: An Alternative to Gantt Charts for Planning Product Development Projects
**Be sure to bring your earphones and your fully charged mobile device to listen in on the presentation!

Join us at the Main Stage in the Exhibit Hall as we playback an on-demand virtual webinar previously aired on ProjectManagement.com.  At the conclusion of this webinar, an interactive and live discussion will be held.  The presenter of this prerecorded webinar will not be in attendance.

To self-report PDUs for this activity, visit ccrs.pmi.org and search for activity # NA18GC414-EXH.

Gantt Charts are a fine mechanism for planning projects that have well bounded activities with a clean start and end point, and with understood dependencies and sequences. But in the non-linear, sometimes chaotic world of Product Development, Gantt Charts can be inadequate, cumbersome, or even misleadingly inaccurate. In the session, we will explore an alternative using a mechanism of Agile product development - a Backlog of value to deliver with estimations of size (effort) and a reality-based Burndown that shows a plan with visible assumptions. Together these mechanisms provide an effective way to plan, track, and re-plan a complex Product Development effort.
