This session will explore the journey of Aliki Courmanopoulos, who took a sabbatical in 2017 and traveled the world to visit with PMI chapters in Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Vietnam and more. The presenter will share what she learned about the various cultures and insights on project management challenges around the world. Aliki will also discuss why the chapter leaders she met with volunteer with PMI and why they feel PMI and project management is important to the future of their society. The session will also include insights from Miguel Cotrina Malca, who hosted Aliki during her journey for two PMI events in Peru.

The view of a program management office (PMO) has different meanings for different organizations throughout government and industry. What does the PMO look like? What functions are to be assigned to the PMO? How does the PMO fit into the organization? How will the organization respond to establishing a PMO? Gantt Charts are a fine mechanism for planning projects that have well bounded activities with a clean start and end point, and with understood dependencies and sequences. But in the non-linear, sometimes chaotic world of Product Development, Gantt Charts can be inadequate, cumbersome, or even misleadingly inaccurate.
