The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Award for Innovation in Project Management was launched in 2015 under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, with the aim to encourage and promote the innovation culture in the project management field. It includes four categories celebrating individuals, teams, organizations and academia, and offers eight awards recognizing the successes of participants with cash prizes totaling $710,000.

Using academic research, particularly with regard to the career paths of students, this session will provide insights into the skills students and emerging professionals need, and how education at the college and university level can provide those skills through excellent teaching and accreditation of project management programs.  Join us for a presentation on the research followed by a discussion of the future of project management education.  This session will conclude with a presentation of the Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs (GAC) awards for accreditation.

Come learn strategies to help project teams congeal and function effectively. Diversity in terms of motivation, cognitive process, and social environments is collectively impactful on the cohesion and effective functioning of teams. By way of a cognitive function schema, Kirton’s theory breaks cognition into three domains: cognitive effect, cognitive affect, and cognitive resources. Respectively, these denote cognitive process, motivation, and learning. Considering these as key factors in predicting the cohesion and effective functioning of teams, participants will explore their impact on motivation, behavior, and ultimately performance.

Delivering thousands of requirements statements alone is dangerous because it is impossible to ensure requirements are complete and correct, and developers simply won’t read them. We will practice creating several visual requirements models that any business analyst or product owner can use immediately on any project to improve their requirements.

In this workshop, you will learn to become "mindwise" by understanding the limitations of reading another person's mind, including the “neck problem” and “lens problem” that inhibit your understanding of other people. Then, working in small groups, you will have a quick Collabinart experience to increase your awareness of other people’s points-of-view – a necessary skill for building high-performing, collaborative teams.
