Benjamin Anyacho is a quintessential project manager, a knowledge management (KM) evangelist, a collaboration pedagogue, and a technocrat with +25 years of results-driven leadership experience in managing complex programs/projects. He strives to add value and make a difference—he has led increases in value, sales, and volunteerism in organizations. He has mentored and coached hundreds of small businesses, NGOs, project managers, and leaders. He is the charismatic president of the 3,000+ member PMI Austin Chapter, and has served on the board as vice president of marketing and president-elect. Mr. Anyacho is a senior project manager (operational excellence) at TxDOT-Strategic Planning Division, where he manages projects that save the agency millions of dollars and led the initiation of an enterprise KM program.
Previously, he served as the interim section director of DBE, SBE, HUB Programs, and initiated/managed the diversity management system at the TxDOT-Civil Rights Division. He has supported more than 10,000 small businesses across Texas competing for more than US$8 billion in federal- and state-funded projects. He is a voting member designee on the AASHTO's Committee on Knowledge Management, and he contributed to the committee’s design. As a member of the Transportation Research Board’s Knowledge Management Task Force, Mr. Anyacho has been recognized as an expert in the KM field. He is the founder of Leaders and Thinkers International and Apostolic Bridge Builders (NPPMG)—leadership networks that serve more than 35,000 global leaders—and a founding advisory board member of Austin Disaster Relief Network, the largest disaster relief network in Texas. He is a board of trustees’ member of Juliana King University, where he was honored with a doctorate degree in leadership. He is a published author, a Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification holder, and earned a master’s degree in business administration from St. Edwards University.
