Kate Boothroyd is an expert risk management consultant offering specialist risk management consultancy and training. She is Director of KB Risk Consulting Limited, a risk management business based in the UK, providing a wide range of risk consultancy, training and audit services. Kate has particular expertise in project and corporate risk management, training and development, and internal audit. She has worked for major clients in the public, private and third sectors across a variety of countries and industries, including oil and gas, utilities, energy, mining, construction, civil engineering, rail, automotive, manufacturing, pharmachem, nuclear, housing, and education.
 
Kate has been an active member of the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) since 1992, serving as a Director from 1999-2003 and Deputy Chairman between 2002-2003. She achieved Fellowship of the IRM in 1996 and become a Certified Fellow in 2016, entitling her to the designation of CFIRM. Kate is one of the IRM’s accredited presenters of the 2-day ‘Fundamentals of Risk Management’ (FoRM) course based on ISO 31000 and the 1-day Project Risk Management course.  She is also the author of and mentor for the Risk Assessment module of the IRM's International Diploma in Risk Management. Kate lectures and tutors at Leeds Beckett University Business School on their Project and Risk Management module.
