Wale Elegbede is PMO Manager for Mayo Clinic’s Center for Regenerative Medicine - Project Management Office (PMO) where he provides guidance and oversees the project management office and project portfolio management efforts for the Center for Regenerative Medicine.

His 18+ years’ experience in project portfolio management includes overseeing major project initiatives for a Fortune 500 company. Mr. Elegbede’s experience spans multiple industries including information technology, consulting and business start-ups, e-commerce, software development, supply chain and manufacturing, and retail. In 2017, he led a multidisciplinary team at Mayo Clinic to implement CAR-T therapy. CAR-T therapy is a novel and revolutionary cancer treatment that got FDA approval in October 2017 for the treatment of B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. It’s a type of cell-based regenerative medicine that involves taking a patient's white blood cells, genetically changing a subset of them called T cells into CAR-T cells, and infusing them back into the patient. The altered cells are better able to recognize and kill cancer cells.

Mr. Elegbede serves on the board of directors of the PMI La Crosse - Rochester Chapter as vice president/president elect. He is also a board member of the People’s Food Cooperative in La Crosse, Wisconsin and Rochester, Minnesota. He holds a bachelor’s degree in information systems from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. He is a PMI Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification holder, a Certified Scrum Master, an Agile Service Manager (CASM) from the DevOps Institute, and holds an ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management.
